Hand-held lawn-trimmers – revised Standard

This revised Standard for Particular requirements for walk-behind and hand-held lawn trimmers and lawn edgetrimmers, AS/NZS 60335.2.91:2008, deals with the safety of electric powered walk-behind and hand-held lawn trimmers and lawn edgetrimmers.  It will supersede AS/NZS 60335.2.91:2002 on 31 October 2010.

Scissors type grass shears – revised Standard

This revised Standard for Particular requirements for scissors type grass shears, AS/NZS 60335.2.94:2008, deals with the safety of electric powered hand-held scissors type grass
shears.  It will supersede AS/NZS 60335.2.94:2002 on 31 October 2010.

Deep fat fyers – new amendment

Draft amendments to other Standards for household appliance safety – public comment

Standards New Zealand has released a number of draft amendments to joint Australian/New Zealand Standards for the safety of electrical equipment, household appliances, and small power transformers for people, livestock, and their surroundings.

A joint Australian/New Zealand technical committee – EL-002, has developed the draft amendments, for Standards relating to safety factors, including those involving personal protection against electric shock, effects of excessive temperature radiation, explosion, implosion, mechanical stability and hazardous moving parts, and protection against fire.  Review amendments and Standards available for public comment.
