ISO 31000 DIS
– First draft international Standard on Risk Management.
ISO/IEC Guide 73 CD2
The Draft International Standard (DIS) of what is intended to become the first international Standard on Risk Management - ISO 31000 – has been issued for comment by the International Standards Organisation (ISO).
This has been done concurrently with the release of ISO/IEC Guide 73 CD2 which is a revision of the existing Guide 73 and provides a risk management vocabulary. ISO 31000 DIS calls up the definitions in Guide 73.
The public comment period has now closed, individuals wishing to comment on the Standard should go to ISO's website to download a copy.
Background
The ISO Working Group responsible for develop ing ISO 31000 has used AS/NZS 4360:2004 extensively in the formation of the ISO draft.
Publication of the ISO 31000 Standard is expected in 2009.
