You can find out the cost of a Standard by searching for it on our website – enter the name or number of the Standard in the search panel on the right-hand side of our web pages. Once you have located the Standard, click on the title of the document and this will take you to the pricing information.

It is a legal requirement in New Zealand to charge GST on goods and services.

You can register to be kept up to date by subscribing to our Keep me up to date service via Electronic subscriptions. This service is free and the link can be found at the bottom of our web pages. You can also subscribe to Touchstone, our free electronic magazine using the subscribe function.

Standards New Zealand does conduct seminars in conjunction with industry from time to time. The frequency and location of seminars are dependent on the technicalities of the Standard and market interest in seminars for that Standard.

Standards New Zealand does keep all withdrawn Standards in an archive which can be purchased.

'Withdrawn' means that the Standard is no longer current and has not been replaced by another Standard.

'Superseded' means that the Standard is no longer current and has been replaced by another Standard. On occasion, a superseded Standard may remain current for a period of time, usually for legislative reasons. For example, if the earlier version of the Standard is cited as a means of compliance to regulations.

Standards New Zealand publishes Standards in two formats; hard copy (printed) and PDF. At this stage we do not supply editable versions of Standards. Standards New Zealand discontinued the printed catalogue in 2005. All of our Standards can be found via our website. We also have a downloadable catalogue (PDF) which can be found on our website under the Standards by Industry tab.

Standards New Zealand endeavours to ensure that all new amendments are incorporated into the Standard. To see whether an amendment is incorporated, search for the Standard you require (by entering the number or name in the search function) and check under the revision history for that Standard.

Public libraries have copies of Standards available for loan. Some larger libraries have copies of all Standards and some libraries also subscribe to our Online Library. Check with your local library for more information.
