Acting General Manager Corporate Services
We are looking for an experienced manager to lead and manage our finance, ICT, corporate communication and marketing, and human resource and office functions until the end of February 2011 while the current General Manager is seconded to another side of our business.
During this time, you are expected to maintain the high level of internal corporate services that are currently provided through our Corporate Services team lead by 6 experienced specialist managers including the Chief Financial Officer. This is maintenance versus developmental role, although your advice about continuous improvement will be valued.
You should be able to demonstrate:
- Significant experience leading and managing a corporate services operation - ideally this should cover all the disciplines of finance, ICT, corporate communication, marketing, human resource and office functions
- An in-depth understanding of public/state service requirements, information and processes
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with proven ability to engage with people across a small organisation
- A record as a strong team player who is prepared to modify their personal efforts and objectives for the greater good
- Excellent judgement and problem solving ability acknowledged by your work with senior executives
- That you are a quick learner
This role can filled either as a contract for services or a contract of service.

IT System and Security Setup
This small crown owned entity operating at the top of the Terrace has the need to employ a person to set up an administration and security structure for its new IT operating system. The role involves working with the IT team to create and populate a file structure into an Enterprise Performance Management system that allows users to only access certain parts of the system.
It is estimated that the role would take about 5 weeks to complete but that the task can take place over a number of weeks and can include some part time work. For example, depending upon availability, the work might take place over the first few weeks full time, then be completed part time. A negotiable hourly rate will be paid.
A person:
- Some experience of knowledge of IT systems administration activities and environments
- Some understanding of or exposure to IT system security
- Have a logically disciplined approach to resolving problems to create appropriate data structures
- Have good attention to detail
It is hoped that a person will be available immediately.
